Verified Reviewer |Service does not work for me
If I get good response.
after hours no answer
I spoked to a level 2 TEC that was less knowable than ones that answer the phone. Someone called me from OOMA and said he was sending me a new unit out, and it was to be all setup. It was not, and he would get back to me. He has not done so.
New device no better than old.I have been out of the country over 50% off the time I 1st signed with OOMA. I'm almost 81, and I don't wish to die on this hill. Phone Power would drop calls after several minutes., Call quality was ok. I change my internet service to T-Mobile, and they suggested OOMA since gateways were not compatible to Phone Power.
It might all be a lot of BS on T-Mobile, I know nothing about gateways.I was told if I paid up front with OOMA all taxes and fees were included,a lie.My friend I had her get OOMA and it works fine I set it up.So I been on the phone for sometimes 8 hours a day. I want my life back and OOMA gone.People can not understand or hear you sound like bubbles on the line.Static you nameit it has has it anything but CLEAR VOICE. At time my cell phone ring and the OOMA is not port to it. But that good I get the call.
My name is Max Elliot 520 393 ****. I put my money where my mouth is. I live in Green Valley, AZ and Bahia Kino Bay Son. MX on the sea of Cortez and it's very safe there.
No shootings. It works for Carolyn and not for me.

Verified ReviewerOoma customer service person in Philippines tried to talk me to buy a new device
Changed my ISP yesterday. After connecting ooma telo to my new router, it wouldn't reset and go online, kept flashing a pink light and repeating a message "Registration mode is enabled".
Today I called their customer service, which is of course in the Philippines. To make a long story short, the service person supposedly tried to reset a device for five minutes then told me my device is broken, and registration mode can't be reset, and I have to buy a new device. I told him to get lost, did a google search for the problem.
Google AI instructed me what to do, and the problem was fixed in about 1 minute. Ooma customer service sucks!!!
- As a landline
- I just use it to send faxes sometimes

Verified Buyer |Terrible service and business practices
Many on here have called them scammers, for their bait and switch tactics. Well, my story is a bit more than bait and switch.
They came to my office, and said that they would install their system, instead of Comcast, and it would be $28/mo, instead of the $47 we were paying Comcast. They claimed they are partners with Comcast, and would get the $47 stopped and replaced by their lower fee. It sounded good, so I signed up. Then, I didn't hear anything.
I called, and was told that the person who set up my sale had quit... but they told me they would take care of it, and a technician would be in on that Saturday to set things up... he never showed up. A week later, when we were super-busy, the technician randomly shows up to do the install, which was a bit of an annoyance.
However, he "set things up" and left.
For months, the phone seemed to be working fine, so I didn't have any issues with their service, or so I thought. Because, I noticed that Comcast was still charging us for the phone service, and so was Ooma. So, I disconnected the little Ooma box, and discovered that the phone seemed to be working fine without their box. This was because THEY NEVER SET IT UP!
Thats right, they had an Ooma box next to the phone, and nothing was set up.
In fact, when I called them to find out what was going on, they didn't even have my phone on file. Then, when I questioned this... they tried to blamee ME, saying that I never set up the line. However...
I was never asked to... never given any instructions to do anything, and they just collected money for a system that despite the technician coming in and setting up, was never actually set up.
Now MAYBE I can give them the benefit of the doubt, and say that they were supposed to have me do something, but forgot... or the (1 week late) technician was supposed to tell me to do something and didn't. But to keep collecting the money, and never say anything, and then argue with me on the phone is just horrendous.
I would NEVER do business with them again... and now instead of just cancelling, I may file chargebacks for all the times they charged me.
- Have persuasive sales people
- Have terrible customer service
- And do not deliver

Verified ReviewerHorrible Customer Service
Before purchasing the Ooma Telo LTE, I checked with Ooma to see if the service could be downgraded if I couldn't get a cellular signal in my neighborhood since cell service is spotty here. I was told I could.
The Ooma Telo LTE arrived and was relatively easy to set up, but it suffered from the same issues I have with our cell phones.
Service was spotty, so I called and downgraded our service from "premier" to basic." The bill was to go from $27+ monthly to $6+ monthly. I was told the next bill would reflect the change. My account portal reflected the change. Connected to my wifi, the Ooma worked, so I was happy.
Fast forward to April 22.
My credit card shows I am being charged $27+ for premier service. I called customer support & today's rep told me I can't downgrade my service with this particular model. She claims the previous TWO representatives I spoke with BOTH lied to me. She said to downgrade my service, I have to buy a new model - not trade in the non-working model, but spend another $100+ to buy new equipment to downgrade my service.
I asked to cancel my service.
You have to speak with a different rep for that, and that department isn't available until 9a-5a PST on Monday. Thankfully, I'm on the east coast, so I can call after my work hours.
After this experience, I wouldn't recommend trying any service from this company.
- Make it difficult to cancel your service
- Customer service reps lie or are not knowledgeable
- Make it very difficult to downgrade your service
Preferred solution: I want them to cancel my service & not to be billed again.
User's recommendation: I wouldn't recommend trying any service from this company.

Verified Reviewer |Fraudulent Unauthorized Credit Card charges by Ooma customer service
My phones came 11/11/22, My setup was 11/16/22 My business phone was set up in the wrong time zone so when my customers would call it went straight to voicemail without ringing. This happened for 2 weeks until my customers started calling the emergency number to let us know, it's saying we are closed during normal business hours.
As this was happening the phone settings would change by themselves, answering on first ring without picking up the phone, sending calls to VM, and I was always told to reboot the phone. By the end of November, I had had enough and called Comcast to switch back over. I called Ooma, they said they did not want the equipment back, I AM PASSED MY 30-DAY TRIAL. And that I would have to continue to pay for a phone that was not worth the postage to send it, and service I no longer had.
My service was never setup properly from the jump. After notifying them, they were not authorized to charge my Capital One and requesting the address to send back their equipment. The customer rep change the time of the call to make it look like I spoke with 2 hrs. Prior to when it was about 30 mins and charged my card 2 times after speaking with him.
Emailing me say your account is canceled now. I have notified Capital One. A dispute will be done.
They won't last long with service like this. I FedEx the sorry phones back to Cali.
Preferred solution: Full refund
They are nit a company that do right by their customers. I cancelled my service and they stole my money. I was promised a refund that I did not get
User's recommendation: Stay clear if ooma

This company is a huge ripp off
So back a year ago, I cancelled this service. It was during the trial period, and they gave me a hard time, but I finally was able to port my numbers back to the company I was trying to switch away from.
We therefore never even used their services. They have continued to bill me $146.00 per month for 1 year !!! I called them and they acted like we had not cancelled the service ! Complete ripp offs and I am going to take action against them .
The reason I didn't want the service was they are liars that say anything to sell you, when the phones came they were not the ones I was promised , by the time the phones got to me it had been past the trial period . I however had addressed this issue with someone prior to, having had a scamming company try to pull the same shenanigan the past. the phones are terrible ,m the lines had static and there was a line beeping in my ear rather than my number automatically ringing the next available line.
There were more issues than these but to be honest its been a year so they aren't fresh in my head. DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THIS COMPANY .
User's recommendation: DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THIS COMPANY THEY WILL CONTINUE TO BILL YOU AFTER YOU OPT OUT AFTER "FREE "TRIAL
I am trying to set up a lil bussness. i got with ooma and ipay instalation and from that point its 19.99 a month. but my first bill off the top was 31.50. and my phone isnt even working at all.
My home phone number that has a porting order has now been taken by sone one else
User's recommendation: I recommend a call to confirm the right number is ported and it is a go. They had made a mistake and ported my temporary number. Someone put the wrong number in porting line. I am so yglad that the person who had my number gave it back. They had it for 4 days
